From: Characterization of the major autolysin (AtlC) of Staphylococcus carnosus
Sedimentation of S. carnosus TMW 2.146 wild-type (WT) and TMW 2.2515 wild-type (WT) was compared with the atlC mutant. For this purpose, cells were taken from an overnight culture, placed in cell culture tubes, and incubated statically. Over 24 hours, images of the cultures were taken at four time points (0 h, 1 h, 6 h, and 24 h) to document sedimentation. It can be observed that the cells of the knockout mutants of TMW 2.146 and TMW 2.2515 sediment faster than the WT cells of the same strain
