Both wild-type strains are compared to their corresponding knockout mutant atlC. The OD₆₀₀ was measured over 16 hours, and one measurement was taken every hour. The TSB media was inoculated to an OD₆₀₀ of 0.05 and strains were grown at 37 °C with continuous shaking between the measuring steps. Autolysis of S. carnosus strain TMW 2.146 (C) and S. carnosus strain TMW 2.2515 (D). Both wild-type strains are compared with their corresponding atlC mutant. The autolysis of the strains is measured over 5 hours. Autolysis is expressed as a percentage and was calculated from the OD values using Formula 1
