Three types of measurements describe the growth of P. chrysosporium on different substrates. Graph (A) shows the average colony growth measured by radial expansion. Graph (B) shows the average colony growth by surface coverage of the membrane by the mycelium. Histograms (C) show the average coalescence patterns of objects; each spore is counted as a single individual particle at time zero. Graph (D) shows the average number of objects versus the average total area occupied by P. chrysosporium. The vertical error bars in graphs A, B and C indicate the single standard deviation around the average values that have been plotted
