Amino acid sequence alignment of TurA, TurB, and Pmr. The alignment was performed using the ClustalW program (version 2.1, http://clustalw.ddbj.nig.ac.jp/). Identical amino acids between at least two proteins are shown in red. Residues 61–77 of TurA and residues 12–29 of TurB (highlighted in green boxes) were used as antigens to produce the anti-TurA and anti-TurB antibodies used in this study. Residues 21–29 and 61–78 of Pmr (highlighted in the pink boxes) were also used as antigens to produce anti-Pmr antibody, but failed to detect Pmr in KT2440 (pCAR1) cell lysates (data not shown)
