  1. Wild-type MG1655 cells carrying the plasmids listed above were grown at 30 °C in ABT medium, harvested at OD450 = 0.15, and analysed by flow cytometry as described in Methods. The proportion of cells in different periods of the cell cycle were calculated as described in Methods. The values are the average of three experiments, the standard errors are as shown in brackets
