Table 3 Amount of metabolized 22:6n-3 (μg/tube) recovered in FAME peaks. Incubation was performed in growth medium containing autoclaved-uncentrifuged rumen fluid (50 % v/v) in the presence of 22:6n-3 (20 μg/mL) with Butyrivibrio proteoclasticus P18. Tubes were withdrawn at 0, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24 and 48 h incubation to study the extent of 22:6n-3 biohydrogenation. Peak numbers correspond to peaks in Fig. 2
